2018 College Football Rankings Week 5

10/01/2018

Your favorite college football ranking system is back for the 2018-19 college football season. Our format remains the same, to be the man you gotta beat the man. Teams are ranked based on the previous weeks record, nothing else.

Last week we gave you three potential upsets and we went two for three. Could have been three for three as Kansas State's comeback bid fell just short in a five-point loss to Texas. Virginia Tech pounded on Duke in what was a statement game for a team that dropped a game last weekend to a now 1-4 team. We also told you Florida would go into Mississippi State and leave with a W and they did not disappoint in a 13-6 closely fought matchup.

Well that didn't last long. (1-4) Old Dominion are out of our top 25 after a loss to (2-2) East Carolina. This week was relatively tame in terms of changes in our standings. Washington defeated BYU as expected while Notre Dame defeated Stanford. Ohio State barely edged Penn State in a game where some are staying Franklin cost his team the game with a questionable play call late in the game. Boston College are in the top 25 after defeating Temple.

For week 6, we have some upsets for you. Florida to successfully defend their stadium against undefeated LSU. Not much of an upset pick but Florida is the statistical underdog in the game but they should defeat LSU. Arizona State over AP #21 Colorado. Arizona State have already dropped two games in a young season but they've also had an incredibly tough schedule, Arizona State is the better coached team and will defeat Colorado in Colorado. Virginia Tech over Notre Dame. Virginia Tech will continue their redemption tour by defeating Notre Dame.

Keep an eye on our upset picks and tune in next week to see the week's top 25.
