2018 CBB Rankings: Week Two

College basketball is back and with that comes a return of the Ric Flair ranking system. Our rankings are molded after Ric Flair's famous quote "to be the man, you gotta beat the man." The week's ranking are based solely on the week's results so if a lower ranked team defeats a higher ranked team, the two teams automatically swap rankings.

Four changes in our top 25 ranking with Furman, Arizona State, UConn and Iowa all joining the top 25 for the week. Villanova, the defending national champs, have been awful so far this season and drop out of our top 25 altogether.

Michigan look to be real contenders this season but you can't read too much into their 27 point victory over Villanova. It'll be interesting to see how far Duke can take their three man band with Cam Reddish, RJ Barrett, and Zion Williamson their only three player averaging over 10 points a game.

Tune in next week to see how our rankings shake up.

This year's draft is shaping to be one for the ages. Not only does it include game-changing prospects, but the turnaround from the finals last week to the draft and then free agency next week is so condensed compared to years past. USA Men's Basketball heads into these Olympic games with less certainty than they've had in years, which leads me to believe they'll fall short of a gold medal. The squad is too thin, there is no clear leader, and the roster feels more like a mix and matching of stars than an actual roster.
